About Annika

Let's do something different this time

I'm direct, curious and comfortable with strong feelings. I'll listen carefully, ask questions and sometimes interrupt when a conversation needs to slow down. I'm not afraid to challenge something that's hurting your relationship.

What you can expect from me

I'll help you notice what happens between you when an argument takes over—and give you opportunities to respond differently while we're together.

I take both partners seriously. Understanding why something happens matters; so does taking responsibility for the hurt it causes.

Experience and approach

I earned my master's degree from Bastyr University in 2006 and have been working in mental health for about 20 years. My graduate training emphasized systems theory — how people, relationships and their circumstances influence one another.

I've trained in several approaches to couples therapy because couples need different things. I want to find the right ones for you.
